Dedicated to restoring humanity and dignity to the experience of growing older in our society
The Eva Marsden Centre for Social Justice and Aging is dedicated to restoring humanity and dignity to the experience of growing older in our society. EMC works to improve all aspects of health and well-being while collectively addressing systemic issues that impact daily life.
Since 1975, we have undertaken a responsibility to advocate on behalf of the older population on a broader scale. EMC continues to expand our role in the community in terms of education, advocacy and collective action.
Our services are designed to safeguard the independence, dignity, and rights of low-income and isolated older adults, and English-speaking residents of CIUSSS-CODIM. We offer compassionate, hands-on support to ensure every individual feels valued, and safe.
EMC is aware that the seniors’ agenda is often excluded from larger initiatives. Our long-standing role involves informing various sectors such as those focused on women, poverty, linguistic minorities, and ethno-cultural communities.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the organizations, foundations, and government bodies that stand with us against systemic ageism and poverty, and support our programs.

Aging Triumphantly is held on Tuesdays – 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the Monkland Centre, 4410 Westhill Avenue. It is a structured social group held weekly with different themes and/or special guests.
Your donation helps us to lessen the impact of poverty and systemic ageism on the lives of adults 50 plus in Montreal. By contributing to EMC and initiatives, you ensure that our essential safety net remains strong and that no one in our community has to face a crisis alone.
